West Ham United are preparing an opening bid for Jørgen Strand Larsen as they fight relegation.
The striker plays for Wolverhampton Wanderers, who are thought to value him at £40m.
West Ham sit 18th and want a new forward in January.
Manager Nuno Espírito Santo has identified Strand Larsen as a priority target.
The 25-year-old scored 14 goals last season after joining from Celta Vigo.
He has struggled this campaign, netting just three league goals.
West Ham are set to loan Niclas Füllkrug to AC Milan.
That would leave Callum Wilson as their only natural striker.
Nuno has also considered Ellis Simms and Haji Wright.
West Ham are additionally pursuing Adama Traoré from Fulham.
