French prosecutors accuse Frédéric Péchier of poisoning 30 patients over nine years in Besançon clinics. Twelve victims died.
Authorities investigated after Sandra Simard suffered cardiac arrest in January 2017. Investigators found a lethal potassium dose in her anaesthesia bag.
Alleged Tampering with Medical Supplies
Prosecutors claim Péchier deliberately contaminated infusion pouches to harm colleagues and later assisted during resuscitations, saying he “always had a solution.”
Péchier denies all allegations. Victims ranged from 4 to 89 years old. His defence team promises to prove his innocence.
Trial Poses Legal and Technical Challenges
The court expects the trial to continue until December. Lawyers describe it as complex due to scale and technical evidence. Péchier remains under judicial supervision, not in custody.
