Erling Haaland once again delivered for Manchester City, scoring twice in a 3–1 win over Bournemouth that lifted Pep Guardiola’s side into second place in the Premier League.
The Norwegian striker struck both goals in the first half, punishing Bournemouth’s high defensive line, before Nico O’Reilly sealed the victory after the break. Haaland now has 13 league goals this season and an incredible 98 in 107 Premier League appearances.
Bournemouth briefly equalised through Tyler Adams, capitalising on an error from City keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, but Haaland restored the lead within minutes. O’Reilly’s composed finish in the second half ended any hopes of a comeback.
City, who have now won six of their opening ten league games, move to 19 points, six behind leaders Arsenal. Guardiola praised his team’s improved control and called Haaland’s latest display “a masterclass in finishing.”
