George Russell won the Singapore Grand Prix for Mercedes with a flawless drive from pole to flag.
He said, “The car felt perfect today. I controlled the race from start to finish.”
Behind him, tension exploded at McLaren.
Lando Norris forced his way past Oscar Piastri at the start.
Their contact left Piastri furious.
“Are we cool with Lando just barging me out of the way?” Piastri asked his team.
He added, “That wasn’t very team-like.”
When McLaren said they would review it later, Piastri snapped, “That’s not fair. If he hits me to avoid someone else, that’s a bad job.”
Russell stayed calm and stretched his lead.
Norris attacked early and jumped ahead of Piastri into third.
Verstappen’s tyres faded fast, and Red Bull pitted him on lap 20.
McLaren asked Norris to let Piastri pit first, but he refused.
Piastri’s stop was slow.
He rejoined still behind Norris and complained on the radio, “You do whatever you think is best.”
Norris defended himself after the race.
He said, “It was hard but fair racing.”
He cut Piastri’s championship lead to 22 points.
Russell crossed the line five seconds clear of Verstappen, celebrating redemption after last year’s crash.
Antonelli finished fifth, Leclerc sixth, Hamilton seventh, Alonso eighth, Bearman ninth, and Sainz tenth.
Hamilton faces an investigation for track-limit breaches late in the race.
